From Jason’s Desk We have had numerous requests from clients for a more personal and regular newsletter, so I will try and publish one on a quarterly basis. ENLIGHTEN I have been a bit ambivalent about tooth whitening for years. Either it was home bleaching with over the counter products (that weren’t great) or Zoom which is “in house”, but does not always give the ideal results for everyone. You can understand that I was somewhat sceptical when Elizabeth come bouncing in to tell me that a new system gave unbelievable and consistent results. After much browbeating I bought some Enlighten Kits and tried one on her and one on me WOW!!!. The results have been astonishing. Yes, you do have to wear some special trays at home for a few nights and do an hour in the surgery, BUT... NO SENSITIVITY and BEAUTIFULLY WHITE TEETH. Both Elizabeth’s teeth and mine are much lighter than with Zoom! Opalescence etc etc. We have now completed this technique on a lot of our clients and the results are consistent. Beautifully light teeth, no sensitivity and it is long lasting.

Extended Hours for a better service After the Extreme Makeovers TV show (www.molars.com) we have been busier than ever. We have increased the number of hours we are working and have also increased the number of hygiene days to try and give a better service. We have taken on Hayley as a new receptionist who will be working with Sheryl, my office manager, Emma and Barbara. Val now runs the associate clinics and Magda is my full time clinic coordinator. Kostos has replaced Anna as one of my associates as I feel the need to bring in clinicians of the highest calibre with the most up to date training and knowledge . Kostas has completed specialist restorative training at Guys with distinction and in his first couple of months has really proved popular with my clients. |

Why flossing could save your life! The Hygiene clinic has seen some changes as well. Unfortunately, Maureen has left us, but after a painstaking search for someone of Maureen’s calibre, she has been replaced by Fitsum who is a qualified therapist as well as a hygienist. Elizabeth continues to go from strength to strength and is working an extra day to deal with the increased demand. Nikos, our resident gum specialist deals with the most advanced cases. Since we had our six day course with a top American hygienist, we feel we are providing the most up to date therapies available anywhere and the results we have been getting in improving peoples gum health have been amazing.
With the influx of new medical evidence linking strongly gum infection to heart disease as well as other medical conditions, we are now working to improve gum health for medical as well as dental reasons. http://www.perio.org/consumer/mbc.heart.htm

The Burns's have just returned from a half term trip to Lanzarotte. Izzi is busy trying to choose her 5 friends to take horse riding on her 9th birthday and James . . . well he is just James. I am taking the kids camping again in July to the New Forest. I go with a few buddies each year (no wives, girlfriends or significant other halves) and we spend two nights in a small tent wondering if we should be certified. Despite the moans and groans (from the grown ups) each year the same usual suspects come along plus more. This year we are up to 15 including kids).
